Italy-based Rainbow’s new live-action series Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends is headed to Nickelodeon Poland and Benelux. The fashion and music-focused sitcom will debut in Poland on July 1 and in Benelux on July 10.
Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends is the animation studio’s first live-action series and follows the relationship between American girl Maggie and Italian student Bianca as they pursue their dreams at the Milan Fashion Academy. A third season is currently in production with two TV movies set for release.
On the licensing front, Rainbow has signed a number of agreements for the property, including a Euro master toy deal with Simba Dickie and a publishing license with Mondadori Libri. Earlier this year, ProSiebenSat.1 Licensing added the series to its consumer products portfolio for German-speaking regions.
Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends premiered on Italian kidcaster Rai Gulp last year. Additional broadcasters signed on for the series include Gulli (France), Karousel (Russia), Disney Channel GSA (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), TV Cultura (Brazil). Netflix, meanwhile, has picked it up for several global territories.
