Tapping into the after-show TV trend for hardcore fans, Hasbro has launched Ponychat, a kid-hosted online show for its popular animated series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
Aimed at kids ages six to 10, the first episode of the six-part miniseries is now available on My Little Pony’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Ponychat features behind-the-scenes segments with fans, their parents and the show’s writers that delve into the themes, friendship lessons and character developments of Friendship Is Magic.
The premiere episode takes a closer look at the show’s seventh season episode, “Not Asking for Trouble,” and sees hosts Gavin and Isabella reenact scenes and join their friends in a My Little Pony ice cream social. New episodes will launch every Saturday.
The program takes Hasbro further into fan-focused content after the recent announcement of its first-ever fan convention HASCON, which will open at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center in September.
