Milan, Italy-based Atlantyca Entertainment has inked a deal that will see its Geronimo Stilton brand become a featured attraction area at Italian theme park Leolandia.
The attraction, which opens this month, is housed in a 300-square-foot structure and features a new pirate-themed adventure inspired by Geronimo Stilton. The famous reporter mouse will also be on-site to meet children and their families.
Leolandia boasts six themed areas with more than 40 attractions and entertainment shows inspired by Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine and Masha and the Bear.
The deal comes as licensed theme park attractions appear to be picking up steam. In May, Sesame Workshop announced it would extend its partnership with SeaWorld Entertainment to launch a second Sesame Place theme park in the US. A month later, Genius Brands International inked a promotional deal with Six Flags to bring SpacePOP branding and content to 10 of its US parks. And earlier this month, Masha and the Bear signed an agreement with Impronta Designers that will bring the animated series to children’s rides at amusement parks, family hotels and shopping malls across Italy.
In addition to expanding into theme parks, Atlantyca has also made moves in the world of live productions. In 2015, the company launched a new division dedicated to creating, producing and developing live branded stage shows based on its owned properties, including Geronimo Stilton, Bat Pat and Agatha Mystery.
