For tweens and teens eagerĀ to learn more about instant online success, BBC Worldwide and Penguin Random House Children’s imprint Puffin are set to launch a CBBC series and book, respectively, starring UK online singing phenoms Max and Harvey Mills.
CBBC has commissioned the teenage Musical.ly stars for a two-program series showcasing a year in the life of the twins’ career, which will air as part of the pubcaster’s ninth season of its critically acclaimed My Life strand this fall.
A home version of the series will then be available to purchase from October in the UK and Ireland on DVD and EST (electronic sell-through) platforms only.
As for publishing, Puffin is releasingĀ Max and Harvey: In A Book on October 19. The diary chronicles the duo’s fast ascent to fame and enlightens readers on how to balance the entertainment business with school and adolescence. In addition, a UK book and DVD tour is also planned for October.
The 14-year-olds currently have more than four million subscribers on social music app Musical.ly and have racked up 11 million views on their YouTube channel covering their favorite songs. They were also nominated for “Muser of the Year” at the 2017 Shorty Awards in New York.
The projects arrive following the BBC’s new multi-million dollar commitment to more online content.
