9 Story Distribution International has acquired global distribution and merchandising rights (excluding China) to animated series Luo Bao Bei. The 52 x 11-minute series is created and produced by China’s Magic Mall Entertainment, with Welsh studio Cloth Cat Animation on board to produce.

Luo Bao Bei targets kids ages four to seven. The series, currently in production, is expected to bow in China later this year before rolling out internationally in English. 9 Story Distribution International will launch the show at MIP Jr with several completed episodes.

The series follows seven-year-old Luo Bao Bei as she navigates childhood and the world around her. Dave Ingham (Shaun the Sheep, The Octonauts) serves as head writer. The titular character was first created by Magic Mall GM Grace Tian in 2008. Since then, Luo has acted as a Beijing city spokesperson and road safety icon involved in community outreach programs.
