PJ Masks ramps up Mexican presence

FTA broadcaster Televisa will begin airing eOne's preschool show next month, while new licensing deals have been inked in the region.

Entertainment One (eOne) is extending the presence of  PJ Masks in Mexico with new broadcast and licensing deals. Televisa has snapped up the first season of the preschool series, which will begin airing in October on the free-to-air broadcaster. (Disney Junior has been airing PJ Masks daily across LatAm since September 2016.)

Additional licensing partners have also signed on in the region, including Grezon (seasonal products), Creaciones Guz and E-Fashion (apparel), Fotorama (games) and Operadora (dress-up). They join existing partners in the region like Bandai Mexico, Just Play, Penguin Random House, Topps Latin America and Grupo Bestway.

The consumer products program will continue to grow in 2018, with Productos Infantiles Animdos rolling out the brand’s first homewares line in January. In spring/summer of 2018, additional products include will release ride-ons (Bicileyca and Flying Wheels), games (Novelty Corp), back-to-school (Operadora Ruz) and branded underwear (Emporio Juveni).

Season two of PJ Masks is currently in the works, scheduled for a May 2018 launch. It recently debuted on Yoyo TV in Taiwan and expanded its presence in Australia with free-to-air broadcast partner ABC Kids.
