UK-based distributor CAKE and South Africa’s Triggerfish Animation Studios are co-producing a new comedy/action series entitled Mama K’s Super 4.
The series, aimed at six- to 11-year-olds, is set in Zambia, where four teenage girls are recruited by a former secret agent to help save the world. It is created by Zambian writer Malenga Mulendema, drawing inspiration from superheroes and ’90s R&B and Hip Hop girl groups.
The companies will develop, finance and produce the 25 x 22-minute 2D animated series. CAKE will handle its international roll out and distribution.
Triggerfish is known for creating series like Adventures in Zambezia, Khumba, Stick Man and Revolting Rhymes.
