L.A. production company Kickstart Entertainment has taken an undisclosed stake in Toronto, Canada-based digital studio Relish Interactive.

Through the deal, the companies will collaborate on original projects and branded content. Both leadership teams will remain unchanged through the partnership and the companies will continue to operate as separate entities. Kickstart’s co-producer credits include PBS KIDS show Ready, Jet, Go!

Kickstart and Relish are currently collaborating on a long-form animated series, which is based on Relish’s interactive storybook The Incredible Tales of Weirdwood Manor. The project, aimed at tweens, tells the story of Arthur Weirdwood, a toymaker, inventor and storyteller.

Relish has also previously created a 30-mission interactive game for YTV’s live action-animation hybrid sitcom The Stanley Dynamic and developed a web game for YTV series Some Assembly Required.
