Integrating all three WATCH apps for kids ages two to 14, DisneyNOW has launched on iOS, tvOS, Android/Kindle and Roku with a bigger content offering, more customization, better personalization, live streaming and next-day on-demand access.
The app, which will launch on Fire TV, Android TV and the web in 2018, also features customized sponsorship opportunities, allowing advertisers to engage with consumers through strategies including sweepstakes and interactive video advertisements.
For current series, DisneyNOW’s lineup includes Disney Channel’s Andi Mack, Raven’s Home, Bizaardvark, Stuck in the Middle, Tangled: The Series; Disney Junior’s Vampirina, Elena of Avalor, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, The Lion Guard, Puppy Dog Pals and PJ Masks; and Disney XD’s DuckTales, Star Wars Rebels, Walk the Prank, MECH-X4 and Milo Murphy’s Law.
Disney Channel Original Movies curated from more than 100 titles will be featured, too, as well as more than 60 games including Duckburg Quest, Flight of the Jaquins and Descendants 2 Wicked Style. New games will be added to the app every month.
A raft of premieres will also hit the app including Disney Channel’s pre-linear debut of The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular; Wizard of Waverly Place: The Movie (October 12); the first episode of season two of Elena of Avalor (October 14); new Disney Junior Nursery Rhymes; the series premiere of Disney Junior’s Vampirina (October 1); and new episodes of Disney Junior’s Mission Force One, the new chapter of Miles from Tomorrowland (October 16).
Additional content will include Radio Disney musical performances and in-studio appearances by recording artists Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Camila Cabello and themed programming under a “Collections” category beginning with Halloween episodes of Austin & Ally, BUNK’D, Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls.
As with the WATCH apps, viewers can access full episodes and live streaming by authenticating via their participating cable, satellite or digital programming distributor.
DisneyNOW also features a Disney Junior Only Mode and a selection of more than 180 heritage and new character poses for Disney Emoji avatars at launch.
Since launching in 2012, the WATCH apps have been downloaded more than 40 million times.
