Italian producer and distributor Mondo TV Iberoamerica has sold CJ E&M’s Robot Trains to Portuguese-language channel Canal Panda.

The two-year deal will see the first season of the show air in Portugal and Portuguese-speaking African territories Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde starting next spring.

Aimed at kids ages four to seven, the 32 x 11-minute series is set in Train World, where all citizens are trains but some can transform into robots. Mondo TV reps the toon in a number of territories across Europe (excluding Greece, CEE, Turkey France and media sales in UK), the Middle East, Africa and the Pacific region. Mondo TV Suisse, meanwhile, recently came on board the show’s second season as a co-producer.

Robot Trains made its European debut in Italy on DeA junior last month. It is already a big hit in Korea, where it has licensing deals in place for toys, publishing, kitchenware and food.
