UK-based Sky Cinema is set to launch its first-ever dedicated animation channel, Sky Cinema Animation. The Sky service will kick off on October 14 and will remain on-air for three weeks at no extra cost to Sky Cinema customers.

Sky Cinema Animation will feature more than 60 family-friendly animated films, including recent releases like Sing (pictured), The Secret Life of Pets and Trolls, as well as Disney classics like Robin Hood, The Emperor’s New Groove and Mulan. Found on channel 306, the animation collection will also be available to viewers through On Demand and NOW TV.

The dedicated animation service will celebrate Ice Age Day on November 4, with 13 hours of content featuring fan-favorite characters from the Ice Age films including Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Ice Age: Collision Course. Additionally, Sky Cinema Animation will mark the 80th anniversary of the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first feature-length Disney film.

The launch of Sky Cinema Animation follows the success of the company’s Pixar channel in March. Last year, Sky inked a multi-year contract with Sony Pictures Television that covers Sony releases like the Spider-Man franchise, Hotel Transylvania 2 and Angry Birds.

Sky Cinema is the collective subscription TV service operated by Sky, which serves 22.5 million customers across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Italy and Spain.
