CITV commissions new series from IFC

The UK kidcaster and London-based Illuminated Film Company are teaming up to create The Rubbish World of Dave Spud for delivery in summer 2019.

British kidcaster CITV has greenlit new comedy-adventure series The Rubbish World of Dave Spud  from London-based The Illuminated Film Company. It is set to air in summer 2019.

The series, aimed at kids six to 11, focuses on the Spud family and their escapades. Created by Ed Foster, who also will be serving as the director, it was developed by IFC. A voice cast heavily populated by British comedians includes: Johnny Vegas as Dave Spud, Gina Yashere (The Daily Show) as Gareth the Starfish, Philip Glenister and Jane Horrocks (Chicken Run).

CITV director of digital channels Paul Mortimer commissioned the series, which is being repped internationally by Beta Film.
