Spanish distributor Imira Entertainment and Hong Kong’s FUN Union have signed a multi-territory distribution deal for three shows produced by Moscow-based Riki Group.
Imira will handle international sales for all Spanish, Portuguese and Italian-speaking territories for BabyRiki (pictured), KikoRiki and PinCode. Combined, the series have 476 episodes that equal 65 hours of content and two billion YouTube views in Russia alone.
BabyRiki (104 x five minutes) is an educational preschool series using 3D-animation and live action. It launched in July 2016 in China on digital platforms, earning 145 million views in the first 10 weeks. KikoRiki (216 x 30 minutes and 52 x 11 minutes) follows the BabyRiki characters as they grow up and go on adventures. PinCode (104 x 13 minutes) is an educational comedy show for primary school children looking at physics, chemistry and biology while taking the characters across the globe.
FUN Union is the global distributor for the Riki shows, with the Riki Group serving as a minority shareholder. The two also recently signed a co-production deal with China Central Television Animation for a new animated series entitled Krash and Hehe.
