Saban Brands is launching Power Rangers HyperForce, an interactive tabletop role-playing game (RPG) with Amazon’s game broadcasting and social video company Twitch. Power Rangers HyperForce will stream live on Hyper RPG, a leading channel on Twitch.

The launch arrives in anticipation of Power Rangers’ 25th anniversary in 2018 and marks the first licensed property to live-stream a tabletop RPG with Twitch.

Power Rangers HyperForce will premiere on October 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. PT and will be available live on www.twitch.tv/hyperrpg. Airing weekly, each of the series’ 25 episodes will feature three hours of tabletop role playing and real-time interaction with viewers.

Developed by Saban Brands and Hyper RPG, Power Rangers HyperForce is set in the year 3016 and follows a team of Time Force Ranger cadets as they band together to defeat an ancient evil. Through a Twitch extension developed by Hyper RPG, viewers will be able to connect their user ID to a Ranger. Users can then send that Ranger on missions, boss battles and raids, as well as trade items with other players. As viewers level up their Ranger through missions, avatars will unlock energy that can be gifted to the RPG players in real-time, helping them as they battle the bad guys.

The RPG game cast includes fan favorites like Peter Sudarso (the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Ninja Steel) and Paulie Schrier (Bulk in Power Rangers), as well as special guests like Erin Cahill (the Pink Ranger in Power Rangers Time Force).

Twitch launched in 2011 and has since grown to host 15 million daily active users as well as two million unique creators broadcasting each month. In addition to streaming live RPG series, Twitch hosts wildly popular eSports events where top professional gamers compete on platforms including Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox and PCs.

In anticipation of this year’s feature film Power Rangers, Twitch ran a 17-day long Power Rangers marathon on its Twitch Presents channel, streaming all 23 seasons and 831 episodes of the television series. The campaign garnered nearly 13 million total channel views and more than seven million chat messages.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers first launched in 1993 and is currently in its 24th season with Power Rangers Ninja Steel. The show airs in 150 territories worldwide.
