Netflix has acquired global streaming rights (excluding China) to Harry & Bunnie (pictured) and Chuck Chicken from Malaysian studio Animasia.

Harry & Bunnie is a 78 x seven-minute non-dialog slapstick comedy that currently airs on Disney Channel Asia Pacific, Malaysia’s TV3 and TV9, and in China on Tencent Video, Youku, YanHua Media, LuTong Net, Suma Vision and CIBN. The series follows a young wannabe magician and his stage rabbit.

Action comedy Chuck Chicken (52 x 11 minutes) takes place on an island filled with chaos and plenty of birds. Animasia recently signed a three-year agreement with Malaysian publisher Sasbadi Holdings Berhad, which will develop a range of activity and comic books based on the series. (Sasbadi’s offerings will also include AR-compatible games.)

In related news, Animasia recently secured sales for 2D-animated toon Bola Kampung and soccer-themed series Supa Strikas. Israel’s Yes Kidz channel picked up 78 x 22-minute Bola Kampung to begin airing in January, while seasons four and five of Supa Strikas were acquired by Singapore’s Mediacorp Suria to premiere in December.
