Chinese entertainment company UYoung has picked up broadcast, SVOD and licensing rights to Cottonwood Media’s The Ollie & Moon Show for Mainland China. The 52 x 11-minute series is distributed by Paris-based Cottonwood Media’s sister company, Federation Kids & Family.
Marking Ollie & Moon‘s foray into China, the UYoung deal follows a string of acquisitions for the series, which has been picked up by Universal Kids (US), France Télévisions (France), Discovery Kids (LatAm, Middle East), TVO (Canada), VRT (Belgium), Knowledge (Canada) and Netflix (North America).
Based on the Ollie & Moon books created by author and illustrator Diane Kredensor, the toon follows two cats as they travel around the world. The Ollie & Moon Show was developed in collaboration with Kredensor by Robert Vargas (Wonderpets, Henry Hugglemonster) and David Michel (Totally Spies!, Get Blake!).
Earlier this week, UYoung secured TV and VOD rights to preschool toon Paprika and kids wildlife series If I were an Animal from France’s Xilam Animation.
