Nickelodeon is set to premiere its new reality singing show, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, on January 12. Hosted by Nick Cannon and JoJo Siwa, the live-action series features kids as they lip-sync pop songs from their favorite musical artists.

The performances will be personalized, with contestants choosing everything from the song, to costumes, choreography and staging. Every episode will also include the Shorties Dance Crew (comprised of 10 in-house back-up dancers) as well as special celebrity appearances.

Nickelodeon added Lip Sync Battle Shorties to its 2017 upfront lineup in March after launching a successful one-hour Lip Sync Battle Shorties special last December that was hosted by Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland. The new series is executive produced by Casey Patterson of Casey Patterson Entertainment, Jay Peterson of Matador Content, James Sunderland, John Krasinki, Stephen Merchant, Rick Schwartz and Eight Million Plus Productions. It is based on Spike TV show Lip Sync Battle, which has been nominated for two Emmy Awards and airs in more than 140 countries worldwide.

Next month will also bring the Nick premiere of animated Henry Danger spin-off The Adventures of Kid Danger, which will bow with 10 x half-hour episodes.
