France’s Xilam Animation has appointed former Gaumont Animation exec Celine Carenco as SVP of media distribution for Asia Pacific. In her new role, Carenco will sell Xilam’s library of kids and family content within this region.

Carenco was most recently sales and acquisitions director at Paris-based awol animation. She was also responsible for developing Gaumont Animation’s international distribution in Asia, EMEA and Canada during her 15 years at the company.

The appointment means that Marie-Laure Marchand, Xilam SVP of global consumer product and media distribution, will focus all of her attention on growing and implementing the company’s consumer products strategies.

Lately, Xilam has been busy building out its team by hiring a new COO, deputy COO and head of development and talent management. The animation company has also been growing its presence in Asia with a recent sales of Mr Magoo, Oggy and the Cockroaches and Zig and Sharko to Cartoon Network Asia, Chinese distributor Jetsen Huashi Wangju Kids and China’s UYoung.
