Global kids content producer and distributor Federation Kids & Family, its Paris-based sister prodco Cottonwood Media and Spanish entertainment company Planeta Junior have joined forces in a multi-year partnership to produce, distribute and license premium kids and family series worldwide.

Cottonwood and Planeta Junior will handle the development and production of new programs, while Federation Kids & Family and Planeta Junior will jointly exploit distribution and ancillary rights.

The multiplatform dealĀ kicks off with Squish, a 2D-animated comedy series co-produced by Cottonwood and French commissioning broadcaster Gulli. The 52 x 11-minute series for kids ages six to 11 follows the adventures of an amoeba looking to survive in the cutthroat world of single cell organisms. It was recently sold to Gulli Girl in Russia and Gulli Africa.

The deal with Federation and Cottonwood comes two days after Planeta’s expanded distribution and co-pro partnership with Germany’s Studio 100 Media that will see the companies collaborate on five new productions for Studio 100/m4e, as well as two productions for Planeta Junior, including certain co-production and distribution rights for all companies.
