L.A.-based Sonar Entertainment has signed a first-look deal with Britain’s Wildseed Studios for its kids and family content. Under the partnership, Wildseed will be developing and producing creator-driven properties for the UK and North America with Sonar serving as worldwide distributor.

The deal includes Wildseed’s  BAFTA-winning animated series Lottie Bearshout, which follows a small town troublemaker as she explores the enchanted woods outside her cabin; mixed-media comedy Tuff Pom about two Pomeranian brothers in the big city; and animated comedy horror series The Grim Repo Club, which follows two best friends as they try to stop the spread of a mysterious paranormal force. The latter two were developed as a part of the Startoon program that Wildseed ran with Shaw Rocket Fund.

The two companies previously teamed up to co-produce Counterfeit Cat (pictured) for Disney XD and Teletoon, which Sonar distributes worldwide. The series follows the adventures of a lazy housecat and a small blue alien in a purple cat costume who crash lands on Earth. Sonar picked up the series when it acquired Tricon Films & Television’s assets after it had declared insolvency.
