Wed Wabbit hops to the big screen with Locksmith Animation

The UK animation studio is set to develop author Lissa Evans' children's book into a family feature film.

UK-based Locksmith Animation has scooped up rights to author Lissa Evan’s children’s comedy adventure novelĀ Wed Wabbit, which will be developed into a live-action/animated feature film.

David Fickling Books handles all rights to the novel, which was recently shortlisted for the 2017 Costa Children’s Book Award and the Blue Peter Book Award. It follows 10-year-old Fidge as she is sent into the world of her four-year-old sister’s favorite story book in the land of the Wimbley Woos.

Locksmith is currently in production on its first animated feature, Ron’s Gone Wrong, under a multi-picture deal inkedĀ with Twentieth Century Fox Film in September. The production partnership will see a new animated film released every 12 to 18 months.
