Turner Latin America has upped Pablo Zuccarino to SVP and GM at Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Tooncast. Zuccarino, who has been with Turner since 2004, most recently served as VP, channel manager at Cartoon Network and Tooncast LatAm.
In his new role reporting to Turner Latin America president Whit Richardson, Zuccarino will oversee all aspects of Turner’s kids brands in the region including programming, digital strategy, marketing, business and operations. He takes the reins from Barry Koch, who left the company in 2017 after leading children’s content for more than 15 years.
Cartoon Network has aired in Latin America for 25 years, offering homegrown content such as Another Week in Cartoon, Cartoon Anything and Toontubers, all of which were developed under Zuccarino’s leadership. These toons live on the region’s YouTube channels, which have more than four million subscribers in Spanish and Portuguese and 150 million monthly views.
Cartoon Network LatAm has been building up its content slate lately by recently securing the follow-up to Dragon Ball Z, entitled Dragon Ball Super, and adding a third season of Animaccord’s Masha and the Bear to air in all 26 countries across the region. Most recently, CN LatAm pre-bought 39 new episodes of Oswaldo from Brazil’s Birdo Studio and India’s Symbiosys Entertainment.
