French production company Millimages is taking Molang further into China, following series sales to Tencent, Mango TV and Alibaba SVODs Youku and Tudou. The 104 x 3.5-minute series recently premiered on Chinese streamer iQIYI.

Last November, Millimages tapped Alibaba Entertainment Licensing to serve as the exclusive agent for online and offline sales of Molang goods in Mainland China. Alibaba is also the brand’s non-exclusive agent in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao. Globally, there are more than 150 licensees attached to the Molang property, including North American master toy partner Jazwares.

Following an eccentric rabbit and his best friend, the series is produced by Millimages for Canal+ (France) and TVC (Spain). Launched in 2015, the dialog-free series currently airs on Tele Quebec (Canada), Disney (Latin America), MTV Oy (Finland), NRK (Norway) and Rai Yoyo (Italy).

In addition to the Molang sales, Millimages also recently signed a package deal with Chinese media group Wow Dadi for 52 x 11-minute Pirata & Capitano, seasons one and two of Paper Port, and the first two seasons of Corneil & Bernie. Millimages currently has 10 different series available in Mainland China.
