Canadian producer and distributor Bejuba! Entertainment has picked up the distribution rights for Ottawa-based Big Jump Entertainment’s new series Etta’s Star. Bejuba! will be looking for partners and closing financing for the 2D-animated 52 x 11-minute (or 26 x half-hour) series.

Created by Anne-Marie Perrotta (Ranger Rob, Max & Ruby, Toopy and Binoo, Big Top Academy) and developed by Big Jump, the series follows Etta as she learns to take care of her new pet star in a world where every child has a special pet, from dragons to unicorns.

While Bejuba! is serving as the distributor on this series, it has been focusing on the production side of things recently, striking a partnership with animation producer Yeti Farm Creative and producer/writer Scott Cameron for Koko Rose Media’s CGI-animated preschool series Flora of the Forest. The series is created and co-developed by illustrator Jo Rose with creative exec Karen Fowler showrunning.

The Canadian prodco has also been pushing forward its new animated comedy series Wishfart, created by John Hazlett, Lienne Sawatsky and Dan Williams. It will premiere on Canadian net Teletoon, after being commissioned by Corus Entertainment, and is being distributed globally by Bejuba! The ITV children’s channel CITV UK recently acquired the UK free television rights for the series.
