French prodco Gaumont has signed an agreement with Nat Geo Kids to debut its new series Furiki Wheels in the Latin American market.
Under the terms of the deal, 52 x 11-minute Furiki Wheels will be branded as a Nat Geo Kids series and premiere on the broadcaster’s LatAm multiplatform services in September.
A slapstick comedy aimed at kids ages six to 11, the series centers around a hyperactive sloth dedicated to becoming the fastest driver at a racing academy. Created and directed by Frédéric Martin and developed and produced by Gaumont, Furiki Wheels was originally commissioned by France Télévisions and Disney XD EMEA.
Nat Geo Kids LatAm launched in July 2017 as a joint venture between National Geographic and 21st Century Fox. The multiplatform service later ordered its first two original productions, Nat Geo Lab and Pilar.
