Portfolio Entertainment has hired kids TV vet Marianne Culbert as its new VP of production.

Reporting to Portfolio CEO/co-founder Lisa Olfman, Culbert will oversee production on all of the Toronto company’s animated shows, including The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! (PBS/Treehouse) and DOKI (Discovery Kids).

Culbert has worked in the animation and children’s content industry for three decades, having previously served as EVP of production at Arc Productions and production VP at Mercury Filmworks. She is also the former production VP at Nelvana, where she worked on animated properties including Wilbur, Toot and Puddle, Little Bear and Max & Rub.

Culbert takes over for Julie Stall, who was Portfolio’s SVP of production since 2010. Stall, who has worked with Portfolio since 2000, is set to exit the company in the coming months.
