Disney Channel has started production on a new live-action comedy entitled Coop and Cami Ask the World. Aimed at six- to 14-year-olds, the multi-cam sitcom will premiere on Disney Channel US this fall.
The series is created by writers/producers Boyce Bugliari and Jamie McLaughlin (The Haunted Hathaways), who will also serve as co-executive producers and showrunners. Dan Cross and Dave Hoge (The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex and The Thundermans) will also executive produce alongside Greg Schaffer (Lab Rats: Elite Force).
Starring Dakota Lotus and Ruby Rose Turner (Fuller House), Coop and Cami Ask the World centers around two junior-high siblings who have amassed millions of followers on an online channel called Would You Wrather. The series also stars Olivia Sanabia (Just Add Magic) as their older sister, Albert Tsai (Dr. Ken) as Coop’s best friend, Paxton Booth (The Toy Box) as their little brother and Rebecca Metz (Better Things) as their mom.
The greenlight follows Disney Channel’s recent commission of a new live-action limited series about a young girl and talking car entitled Fast Layne, which is also set to bow later this year.
