UK children’s pubcaster CBBC has commissioned Danny & Mick, a new live-action slapstick comedy from Endemol Shine UK’s comedy prodco Tiger Aspect Productions.

Aimed at six- to nine-year-olds, the 20 x 11-minute series stars real life half-brothers Danny Adams and Mick Potts, who have been starring in a UK-based pantomime show for the past 13 years. (Danny recently picked up a win for Best Comic at the Great British Pantomime Awards for his role in Peter Pan at the Theatre Royal Newcastle.)

Commissioned by CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor, the series will be executive produced by Melissa Hardinge and will air on the pubcaster next year.

CBBC has recently been bolstering its slate of live-action programming, with recent commissions for Secret Life of Boys Christmas Special (in conjunction with Australia’s ABC ME), and Logan High, a new live-action teen drama from London prodco Chalkboard TV.
