DHX Media has sold the first season of its new live-action/CGI series Massive Monster Mayhem to five new broadcasters in Europe and Australia.
Lagardère, Gulli TV and Canal J (France), TVE’s Clan (Spain), CiTV (UK), and ABC (Australia) have all picked up the competition series for premieres this spring.
Co-created by Artur Spigel (founder of 7ate9 Entertainment) and Michael Chaves, Massive Monster Mayhem is produced by DHX Media. Aimed at children ages six to 11, the series follows real kids as they compete in CGI challenges to become Earth’s champion and win prizes. Spigel executive produces the series with DHX Media’s Steven DeNure, Anne Loi and Josh Scherba, as well as Epic Story Media founder Ken Faier.
DHX globally distributes the show, which was recently picked up by Nickelodeon International to air in more than 140 territories. Season one premiered on Nicktoons in the US and Canada’s Family Channel in October 2017. As global toy licensee (excluding Asia), Alpha Group is gearing up to launch branded Massive Monster Mayhen toys this fall.
