London’s ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has signed licensing and distribution deals for its new animated show Robozuna.

ITVS GE appointed Hengxin Shambala Kids (HSK) as master toy partner for the property in China. HSK will develop and manufacture a toy line inspired by the series featuring a range of battling robot figures. The toy line will roll out in spring/summer 2019, with additional consumer products set to hit shelves in fall/winter 2019.

Bandai, meanwhile, was tapped by ITVS GE as distributor for the action-focused show in the UK. The Netflix Original series will launch globally with the SVOD giant this fall. It will also air with linear broadcasters in the UK, launch short-form content through YouTube Kids and bow apps and gaming in partnership with UK-based Kuato Studios.

Robozuna follows 14-year-old Ariston and his homemade robot Mangle as they fight to free their oppressed nation from the evil Corvus Imperium. Social media influencers Ethan Gamer and Ali-A star in the series and will create online content to supplement the show.

In April, ITVS GE inked deals with Paragon Creative and Immersive Rides to develop attractions and experiences based on the series Thunderbirds Are Go. The company is also developing direct-to-consumer categories for the series that will be announced in coming months.
