As part of its ongoing strategy to provide more kids and family programming, US streamer Hulu has secured a library deal with Viacom for a suite of 11 series and more than 20 movies from Nickelodeon.

Titles that are now available to stream on Hulu for the first time include Big Time Rush, School of Rock, Hunter Street, Make It Pop, Every Witch Way, WITS Academy and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn.

Three additional series—Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks, Kung Fu Panda and Penguins of Madagascar—will also make their way back to Hulu. Hulu expects to roll out more series and films from Nickelodeon throughout the year.

The agreement comes as Nick continues to leverage SVOD services in new ways. Just last week, the kidsnet licensed its new animated comedy Pinky Malinky to Netflix, giving the streaming giant the exclusive rights to premiere the series later this year as a Netflix Original.

Hulu, meanwhile, continues to up the pace in the kids and family content wars, having recently signed a landmark deal with DreamWorks Animation to be the exclusive streaming home to future DreamWorks theatrical releases and library films, as well as a creative partner with DreamWorks Animation TV on multiple new original kids series based on the studio’s franchises and upcoming features.

The deal is Hulu’s biggest kids and family licensing deal to date and its first-ever multi-year pact with DreamWorks Animation. With growth top of mind, the streamer recently surpassed 20 million US subscribers.
