Channel 5’s Milkshake! has commissioned a second season of Blue-Zoo Productions’ CGI-animated preschool series Digby Dragon, set to air in 2019.
The 26 x 11 minute season, which follows the fledgling dragon as he ventures outside his home of Applecross Wood, will premiere on the channel’s Milkshake! block before heading to Nick Jr., also part of Viacom International Media Networks.
The previous season originally debuted on Nick Jr. before airing on Milkshake! in February 2017, and has since reached 8.3 million viewers on the preschool block.
Digby Dragon, based on original work from Sally Hunter (Humphrey’s Corner), will continue to be produced by London’s Blue-Zoo, the studio behind shows like Go Jetters, Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small and Tree Fu Tom.
In addition to its run on Milkshake! and Nick Jr., Viacom will broadcast season two of Digby on its Australian and Latin American networks.
