Australian toyco Moose Toys is rolling into the robotics field with the launch this week of the Really RAD Robots line.

Yakbot (pictured) will be the first robot toy released from the new tech-toy line. This spherical interactive robot includes voice recording and play back, sound warping, more than 20 different sounds and the ability to self-right after being rolled along the ground. The Yakbots are available in three different styles for a suggested retailed price of US$12.99.

Robotic toys are selling incredibly well right now, especially on Amazon. eCommerce analytics firm One Click Retail found that sales in the category were up 40% in 2016, reaching US$25 million. Several other toycos have jumped on the voice-assisted play and robotics bandwagon already, including LEGO’s BOOST 850-piece robot, Evollve’s Ozobot, the CogniToys Dino by Elemental Path and Movi for preschoolers from Fisher-Price.

Moose Toys specializes in collectible toy properties, like Shopkins, which is currently in its 10th season with Mini Packs, Disney Doorables, Treasure X action figures and recently released plush toy collection Scruff-A-Luvs. The toyco also joined forces with Epic Games this month to launch mini collectible Fortnite toys inspired by the hit gaming franchise.
