Fandom-focused aggregation platform VRV has signed on to be the premiere launch partner for Nickelodeon’s new SVOD NickSplat. The kidcaster’s new multi-screen destination will focus on its content from the 1990s across television and social platforms.

VRV currently features SVOD channels Crunchyroll, Funimation, DramaFever, Rooster Teeth and Shutter alongside its curated house channel. NickSplat is available as an OTT channel on VRV starting today.

The two closely collaborated to create the NickSplat-branded streaming channel that will feature a rotating selection of 30 of Nick’s most popular nostalgic animated and live-action shows including AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, All That, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, CatDog, Clarissa Explains It All, Doug, Kenan & Kel, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Rocko’s Modern Life (pictured).

Viacom will continue to curate programming on the OTT channel throughout the partnership. The service will cost US$5.99 per month à la carte or US$9.99 per month as part of a VRV premium bundle, and is available on Xbox One, PS4, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Chomecast and on Android and iOS.

To promote the channel launch, VRV is also starting a “childhooding” tour with a series of experiential events based on the NickSplat series across the US starting in Santa Monica in September.

Nickelodeon has been doubling down on its classic series as of late, including the revival of Rocko’s Modern Life for an original one-hour TV special executive produced by the series’ original creator Joe Murray. More recently, the kidcaster announced it is bringing back iconic TV property Rugrats for a new animated TV series on Nickelodeon and a live-action/CGI movie.
