Disney has acquired  Pat the Dog from Superights for its feeds in Russia and Germany. The 78 x seven-minute animated comedy series is already available on Disney Channel (free to air) in both countries, following a first pay-TV window on Boomerang in Russia.

Pat the Dog‘s upcoming second season will feature 63 new episodes, as well as four TV specials and 10 no-dialogue slapstick shorts starring Hoodie the cat. The specials will focus on Christmas, Halloween, summer holidays and the first time Pat and Lola met.

The IP’s global licensing agent, ProSieben Licensing, recently inked a deal with Nici for a range of plush, apparel and back-to-school products that will launch in Europe next October.

Pat the Dog is produced by Superights parent company Superprod and Italy’s Animoka. Broadcasters already running the show include Turner EMEA & Asia Pacific, Disney (US, Spain), Radio Canada, Discovery Latin America, RTS (Switzerland), YLE (Finland) and MTVA (Hungary).
