Canadian distributor Blue Ant International has acquired four new kids & family series to round out its portfolio heading into MIPCOM later this month.
Joining Blue Ant’s lineup is Riverbank Pictures’ When I Grow Up! (26 x 11 minutes), centering around a girl trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up by making videos of her journey in a DIY production studio in her parents’ garage.
Produced by LoCo Motion Pictures and Toronto’s Broken Compass Films, Detention Adventure is a 10 x 11-minute series about three nerdy friends who purposefully get into trouble at school so they can search the detention room for a hidden entrance to a secret laboratory.
Blue Ant also picked up season three (48 x 30 minutes) of The Inspectors III (pictured), produced by Hearst Television’s Litton Entertainment. It continues the story of Preston Wainwright, a teenage boy genius who is paralyzed in a car accident.
Rounding out the four-pack of new shows is News of the Wild from Australia’s Northern Pictures Kids, which Blue Ant recently acquired. This 37 x 30-minuter is an animal-focused factual entertainment news series for seven- to 12-year-olds. Squabbling co-hosts Maya and Finn guide viewers on an exploration of the indigenous animals (and so much more) found in various locations around the world.
