US pubcaster PBS KIDS has given 9 Story’s Brown Bag Films the greenlight to put animated series Xavier Riddle & the Secret Museum (74 x 11 minutes) into production, with a fall 2019 debut on its linear and digital platforms in mind.

Based on a book series called Ordinary People Change the World by author Brad Meltzer and illustrator Christopher Eliopoulos, the show is about a gang of young adventurers who meet real-life historical figures when they were kids.

In addition to the show’s first season, PBS KIDS has also commissioned Xavier Riddle interstitial content and a one-hour special. 9 Story Distribution International controls the rights everywhere except Canada, and 9 Story Brands will handle global licensing and merchandising.

9 Story Media Group purchased Brown Bag Films in 2015, launching an international distribution arm based in Brown Bag’s Dublin office the following year. And in late 2017, 9 Story officially realigned its Toronto studio under the Brown Bag banner.
