London-based distributor CAKE has inked deals with Asian broadcasters Tencent, Shanghai Senyu, Mango TV, C&J, Mediacorp and True Corp for a number of preschool series.
Chinese SVOD platform Tencent has signed on for more than 250 episodes of preschool content, including CAKE Entertainment and Paper Owl Films co-pro series Pablo, the second seasons of PBS KIDS’ Ready Jet Go! and Toby’s Travelling Circus, plus the first two seasons of Poppy Cat.
China’s Shanghai Senyu picked up Hareport while SVOD platform Mango TV also snapped up Pablo and CBeebies’ Olobob Top. Korean pay TV channel C&J has 272 episodes of preschool content including Ella Bella Bingo and Poppy Cat, along with the first two seasons of Universal Kids’ Space Racers.
Mediacorp, meanwhile, signed deals for Astroblast!, Ready Jet Go! and Botternikes & Gumble in Singapore. In Thailand, True Corp licensed Pablo, Olobob Top and all Angry Birds TV content, as well as the Christmas special Frozen in Time.
The new deals in Asia are part of CAKE’s ongoing global expansion plan, which recently led to deals with France’s Canal+ for Total Dramarama, and gave Turner international broadcast rights to Mush-Mush and the Mushables for its Carton Network, Boing and POGO channels.
