Acamar Films bolsters leadership team

The London-based prodco has hired a new executive director of content, director of strategy and director of promotions & partnerships.

London-based prodco Acamar Films has brought in Jodie Morris (pictured, right), Alister Morgan and Kirsty Southgate (pictured, left) in order to capitalize on the success of its preschool series Bing, which is currently available on linear channels in 102 countries and has 300 million views on YouTube.

Morris is joining the senior management team as executive director of content and will spearhead global expansion for Acamar’s flagship animated show across digital and social platforms. Previously, she was director of digital content at Beano Studios, where she played a key role in launching its website. And before that, Morris served as managing editor for online at Channel 4, where she commissioned digital content and spin-off shows.

Morgan, meanwhile, is coming in as director of strategy from a head of social media role at BBC Television/BBC iPlayer, Earlier in his career, he did a stint as director of digital media at A+E Networks UK/EMEA, and also served in various director roles at AOL Europe, Huffington Post UK and Bebo. Morgan will take on responsibility for Acamar’s business strategy and consumer positioning.

And finally, as director of promotions and partnerships, Southgate will lead global strategy and long-term revenue growth planning, as well as building marketing exposure for Bing. Previously, she worked at 20th Century Fox as director of brand management and promotions EMEA on Ice Age and Avatar.

This staff-up comes in tandem with production planning to complete a new season of Bing, as well as a series of web-only exclusives that will be released in 2019.
