Preschool SVOD app Hopster is expanding with the launch of a new children’s learning service on US satellite pay-TV operator DISH. For US$4.99 a month, Hopster’s content will be available to 13 million subscribers across the US, through an internet-connected Hopper DVR, Hopper Duo, Joey or Wally set-top box, or DISH Anywhere app.
The content mix features learning shows, music and video books including Sid the Science Kid shorts, Reading Rainbow Storytime, Sesame Street’s Count TV and Two Minute Tales.
It’s been a big year for Hopster, which grew well beyond the reach of its own app. Hundreds of its episodes are now available through Scottish pubcaster STV in branded children’s area of the STV Player VOD app, as well as on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 service and OTT streamer Sling TV in the US.
