A second season of hybrid series Yakka Dee from Brit studio Beakus is set to bow January 7 on CBeebies, with six-year-old Saanvi Patel (pictured) reprising her role as the titular character.

Produced by Beakus in partnership with fellow UK prodco King Banana, the series stars 2D-animated Dee and her live-action friends, who encourage children to talk for the first time by showcasing first words. The 20 x five-minute series is created by Beakus founder Steve Smith, King Banana’s Katie Simmons, and creator-producer Lotte Elwell. Season one debuted last November and is Beakus’s second original series for CBeebies after Olobob Top.

BBC Studios also stepped up last year to invest in seasons two and three, the latter of which is expected to air later in 2019.
