Nickelodeon’s new original TV movie Bixler High Private Eye will premiere on January 21 and star Jace Norman (Henry Danger) as Xander DeWitt, a teen with a knack for solving mysteries. In the live-action comedy, Xander teams up with the school newspaper’s investigative reporter—played by actress and singer Ariel Martin—after his father disappears.

Bixler High Private Eye marks Norman’s fifth starring role in a Nickelodeon TV movie and his first time as an executive producer. The original TV movie Blurt, starring Norman and JoJo Siwa (Lip Sync Battle Shorties), premiered last year with Norman serving as co-producer.

Martin, meanwhile, has racked up more than 282 million views with her YouTube videos and has more than 40 million followers across multiple social media platforms, where she is known as “Baby Ariel”. In 2016, Nickelodeon signed an exclusive licensing partnership with Siwa, then a 13-year-old online influencer, to develop a line of consumer products. In addition to this deal, Siwa expanded her involvement with the kidsnet through a number of TV appearances, as well as her role in Blurt.

Bixler High Private Eye was written by Christopher Baldi (Jim Henson’s Turkey Hollow), Danny Kallis (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) and Michele Wolff (Ella Enchanted), with Leslie Kolins Small (Stuck in the Middle) directing.
