Netflix will power up its magical swords and round up the princesses once more when it premieres season two of DreamWorks animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on April 26.
Inspired by the classic ’80s toon, this redux tells the story of Adora, who leaves her former life in an evil horde when she discovers a magic sword that transforms her into a mythical warrior princess. She-Ra was originally picked up by Netflix at the end of 2017, along with five other DreamWorks shows, including Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, Harvey Street Kids, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants and a third season of Trollhunters.
DreamWorks followed up the premiere of season one (on November 16) by signing a publishing partnership with Scholastic to launch an extensive line of books in the US and Canada this summer, including original fiction, graphic novels, fill-in journals, in-world guidebooks and novelty box sets.
DreamWorks and Netflix are continuing to work together in 2019/2020 with three new series planned, including Archibald’s Next Big Thing, Gabby’s Dollhouse and Rhyme Time Town.
