Australia’s Flame Distribution has secured the international rights to Canadian developer Yellow Bear Studios’ new web series Does It Fart?, which has been commissioned by CBC Kids.

Based on a hashtag of the same name that went viral in 2016, the 10 x four-minute factual series explores which animals fart, the biology of why, and the effects their flatulence has on other animals and the environment. Creatures featured on the program include termites (fart), lemurs (fart), hippos (fart), parrots (don’t fart) and skunks (fart plus).

Does It Fart? is supported in Canada by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the Bell Fund. The series has been nominated for a 2019 Kidscreen Award in the Best Original Web/App Series category, and winners will be announced during Kidscreen Summit in Miami on Tuesday, February 12. Yellow Bear president/executive producer Ryan Lussing and Flame’s Phil Barnsdall-Thompson (VP of acquisitions for UK, Europe and North America) will be seeking broadcast and co-production opportunities for the show at the Summit.
