The streamer has ordered a fourth season (20 x 11 minutes) of Henson's vocab-building animated series.

Netflix has greenlit a fourth season of The Jim Henson Company’s Netflix Original Word Party, bringing the episodes count for the animated preschool series up to  60 x 11 minutes.

Its new season will introduce a dual-language format that teaches Mandarin and English, as well as 10 short-form music videos featuring original songs that reinforce the show’s curriculum. Created by Alex Rockwell (Pajanimals, Bear in the Big Blue House), Word Party is about baby animals that sing and dance through their daily routines, while interacting with the audience and learning new words. It’s animated using the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, proprietary computer-generated animation technology from the Jim Henson’s Creature Shop special effects company that allows puppeteers to perform digitally animated characters in real time, enabling more lifelike and spontaneous animation.

This greenlight comes on the heels of a fifth-season renewal for Henson’s CG-animated preschool series Dinosaur Train by PBS KIDS. This latest season will begin airing across all of the pubcaster’s platforms in summer 2019. Henson also recently signed a development deal to produce a live-action/puppetry preschool series called Slumberkins, based on the same-name mindfulness children’s brand.
