Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana has closed several new sales for Sesame Workshop’s animated series Esme & Roy across Europe, Southeast Asia and MENA.
The 52 x 11-minute series will air soon KiKA (Germany), Disney Junior Southeast Asia, NRK (Norway), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), Minimini (Poland), HOP (Israel) and DKids (Middle East and North Africa).
Distributed by Nelvana and created by TV vets Dustin Ferrer (Peg+Cat, Shimmer and Shine) and Amy Steinberg (Team Umizoomi), the preschool show first aired on Treehouse (Canada) and HBO (US) in August. Esme & Roy invites kids into a colorful world where its titular stars help monsters through everyday situations like trying new foods and feeling scared during thunderstorms.
The new broadcast deals come on the heels of Nelvana inking an exclusive Canadian broadcast and licensing agreement with Sesame Workshop last spring.
