UK-based Jetpack Distribution has acquired international rights for California toy and entertainment company Funrise’s new animated TV series Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty. Jetpack will distribute the series in Canada, LatAm, Europe (excluding Italy and Russia), Australasia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The 2D-animated comedy premiered on Nickelodeon in the US in January, and is set to air on Nick’s international channels, and branded blocks, across more than 170 countries and territories later this year. The 52 x 11-minute episodes, including one 30-minute holiday TV special, is aimed at six-to 11-year-olds, and follows a kitty named Felicity who has magical powers.
Funrise also unveiled a line of toys based on the series at Toy Fair New York. The product range includes collectible bobble-head figures, action figures, playsets, plush toys and wearable items like claws (pictured) and a mask.
In recent Jetpack news, the distributor expanded its overseas presence with the hire of Sophie Prigent as the new sales director, as well as inked an agreement for distribution rights to its first slate of feature films from Brit prodco Perplexia Pictures.
