Marvel is taking its superheroes back to their comic book roots with a series of six short animated videos. The first to be released is Marvel Rising Ultimate Comics: Ms. Marvel, which is now available on the Marvel HQ YouTube channel. The episodes are between six to seven minutes long and feature characters from Marvel and its animated series Marvel Rising.

Ms. Marvel follows a young superhero whose field-trip is interrupted by the villain Loki.  The other episodes will be released weekly on the YouTube channel and are part of the Marvel Rising Ultimate Comics series of videos, which combine a comic book-art style with digitally animated motion effects.

Marvel recently introduced new installments in its animated tween content offerings with the Marvel Rising franchise. It includes the 22-minute animated special Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts, which aired last month, and the 44-minute animated special Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron, which was ordered in January, but not given a release date.
