French prodco Xilam Animation has tapped Capucine Humblot as head of licensing and merchandising. In her new role, Humblot will supervise consumer products activity for properties including Oggy and the Cockroaches, Zig & Sharko and Paprika. Additionally, she will develop the strategic licensing and merchandising plans for the recently announced preschool series Oggy Oggy.
Oggy Oggy marks Xilam Animation’s first-ever CGI series, and production on 156 x seven-minute episodes is set to start this summer. The show also represents a shift in the studio’s approach to licensing, with Xilam beginning work on the property’s consumer products program at the show’s inception, instead of waiting until after its premiere. The studio is currently assembling licensing partners across key categories including toys, apparel and homewares.
Humblot will be based in Xilam’s Paris headquarters and report to EVP of global sales development Morgann Favenncec, effective today.
She previously served as brand developer for French publisher and toys/games distributor Asmodee. Humblot has also held positions with TF1 and Mattel (where she worked on brands, including Barbie, Monster High and Fisher-Price) in the last ten years.
