The Obamas, Netflix team up for preschool series

Higher Ground Productions' Listen To Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents will dig into the foods kids and their parents eat.
May 1, 2019

Former first couple Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are creating a new half-hour preschool series for Netflix through their Higher Ground Productions shingle.

Created by Jeremy Konner (Drunk History) and Erika Thormahlen (Just Deal), Listen To Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents will teach young children and their families about the food they eat. No details have been released yet as to when the series will launch, how many episodes it will be, or what format it will be done in.

The new series is part of a bigger slate of content the Obamas are creating exclusively for Netflix. The majority of the programming is targeted at adults and includes a feature-length documentary about a summer camp for disabled teens titled Crip Camp, and a non-fiction series about the work everyday heroes do to protect democracy called Fifth Risk.

The projects are in different stages of development and are to be released over the next several years, according to Netflix.
